15/1/15
We tried a new schedule today - 'flexible scheduling'. What it meant was last night we received our list of jobs and instead of our normal 9:30 morning meeting, we had a meeting the night before. It meant that we could start whatever time we wanted on wednesday and as long as we finished our jobs before dinner we could do as we pleased.
Our working day therefore, did not start until late! We slept in and start with folding laundry at 10:30. It made for an extremely relaxing day not to be rushed in the morning. Other jobs we had to do included cleaning bathrooms, cleaning Rita's room (She left this morning) and kitchen.
Lunch was a bit of a problem... We had eaten most of our left overs and as there were no guests there were no more leftovers coming in! Instead Nikki had said to make pasta... I managed to turn pasta into being allowed to make wedges! Hence the Wedges Wednesday title!
After lunch and clean up we had a break until half three. Then we had our normal morning meeting but in the afternoon. We had introduced a new aspect of 'wicked wednesday' as well - the snaps box. The idea is the same thing as on Legally Blonde 2 - to fill a box with pieces of paper written with nice things about each other. We opened it today and read them all out.
After Morning/afternoon meeting it was time to cook dinner. Rachael had decided to cook it all by herself for her staff challenge - we were having Chilli and Rice. Dinner and Clean up were done by 7.10 which was great as Charlotte and I were to catch the 7.54 bus from Adelboden Oey, to Kandersteg.
Kandersteg Internation Scout Centre is the World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in the next valley. Lying in the Kandersteg Valley, the centre provides chalets, lodges and campsites over 17 hectares. The Centre began in 1923 with Lord Baden-Powell, who decided after the first World Jamboree, had a dream about a place where all Scouts from all over the world could meet: the permanent Mini Jamboree.

We stayed in the Australian Room (So named as the Australian Scout Movement and associated people had donated the money to renovate and furnish the room. It was decorated with Australian uniforms and items - Including a new Rover shirt, a new Cub shirt and an old Rover shirt. Once we had made our beds and stripped off our layers, we went exploring. We explored most of the common rooms and the reception and signed the Guest Book before heading to bed!
