it's a celebration... not a party!

Today we spent the majority of the day setting up for the Christmas celebration tonight.  As it turns out we were too efficient and a day which looked like was going to be work all the time and no breaks turned into half a day off!

At 12.15 we had our first tour group come through! I got to lead the tour around Spycher and Main Chalet for three guests from the Gold Coast of Australia.  As they came right at lunch time I missed out on lunch... I ate afterwards instead... by myself...

We didn't really have to do anything until about 6 om when the kitchen ladies went off to start in the kitchen.  I didn't have to be anywhere until 6.40 pm.  I was on meet and greet with Schooley.

Today we received this lovely email from Tanya, our World Centre Manager...

Wow! What a great team you all make!

Thank you so much for making last night such a special night for so many people (including me). Your time and energy to make the Chalet shine before hand, your smiles and service to the guests during the event, your time entertaining children, making music, baking, and making our neighbours feel welcomed is very appreciated.

Charlotte said that she thought this was one of the best staff teams she has ever seen at one of the Christmas parties. This is really saying a lot and I believe she is right.

I hope you are all enjoying yourselves during the festivities as you are bringing joy to many other lives!
