white christmas

25/12/14

Merry Christmas!!

First up this morning the guest services team and I were up in the kitchen by 8 am making Brunch.  We made scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, pancakes and the usual breakfast for both guest and staff .

After Breakfast at 12.30 pm Mum, Lauren, Hannah, and I went up the mountain to go skiing.  We did the blue run at the very top before doing another to the bottom.  Lauren left us and went off with Charlotte and her family to do some harder red runs. Hannah and I had to catch the bus back up to get to the top of the mountain.

At 3.30 pm we headed back down the mountain to return Hannah's skis, and meet everyone at the bottom of the mountain.  There was this little cloud between the mountains... which later turned into such a thick fog you couldn't see the gondola in front of the car you were in!

Due to other Guest pick ups and people being late, we didn't get home until about 5.30 pm.  Just in time for dinner at 6 pm!!  Dinner was a cold meat platter and salad, a nice light dinner after the brunch this morning!

like my antlers?!

Just as we finished dinner, it started to snow...

everyone basically climbed out the windows...

and then played outside for a while.... we had a snowball fight!

Officially a white Christmas!

they gave me an icepick

12/12/14

First thing this morning, we woke up. (Thanks for the input Danielle!)

Breakfast and morning meeting followed where we found out what we were doing for the day.

Today we were cleaning the upstairs of Spycher.  We deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep cleaned the Guest rooms and set them up ready for guests.  I was in charge of cleaning windows and mirrors, and hence I had an awesome view...

Found this whilst cleaning

After lunch we had grounds and maintenance training.  We ended the training by shoveling snow ... this is where they gave me an icepick... Even though it got to a whole 5 degrees today, the snow was only slowly melting and there was a lot... a lot, of ice.

Dinner was accomplished between Schooley, Rachael, Ana and I.  We made chicken carbonara and apparently it didn't taste that bad!

After dinner and dinner clean up we met in the Helen Storrow room to decide our room mates for Stockli, the staff house.  Well, we didn't really decide, Chole had the most round about way for us to fairly decide.  We had to draw names out of a hat, and the name which was drawn, that person had to then roll a die and the number they threw coordinated with a room.  Just to make it even fairer, Tanya (the World Centre Manager), had to pick between orange and yellow, the two colours of the dice, which also coordinated to particular rooms.

In the end, we all eventually had a room in Stockli!

Lastly we finished up with making snowflakes for the Christmas Celebration next week!
